Incumbent Democrat Mike Levin leads the race slightly with Republican challenger Brian Maryott for California’s 49th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives on the morning of Nov. 9. The district straddles northern San Diego County and southern Orange County.
Levin, who is seeking a third term in U.S. House of Representative is ahead with about 51 percent of the vote over Maryott, the former mayor of San Juan Capistrano, with 49 percent, according to preliminary results posted by the California Secretary of State. Official California election results won’t be certified until Dec. 16.
As of Oct. 19, Levin had raised about $4.71 million in campaign donations over Maryott’s approximate $4.56 million, according to the Federal Election Commission’s latest tally….}
