Just under four months after he first named her to the panel, Gov. Ron DeSantis has decided to keep Realtor Stacy Plean on the Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees.
DeSantis’ Office announced Plean’s reappointment to the Board.
Plean’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
An associate broker with LoKation Real Estate and the founder of The HomeSeeker Group, Plean’s work in the real property sales industry dates back decades, according to her LinkedIn profile.
That includes some related political activity. She is the current 2026 Regional Vice President and Co-Chair of the state-level Realtors Political Advocacy Committee (RPAC) for Broward, Palm Beach & St. Lucie Realtors.
She also serves on the State and Local Issues Policy Committee of the National Association of Realtors and the Public Policy Committee of Florida Realtors.
Since 2020, Plean has made 58 state-level political donations totaling $28,942. Fifty-seven went to RPAC, state records show.
One $137 check went to DeSantis’ former political committee, Empower Parents PAC, in April 2023.
All of Plean’s federal-level political donations went to the National Association of Realtors PAC, except for two contributions in 2021 and 2022 totaling $500 that went to President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
Her community involvements include membership to Florida’s Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Council.
The Governor’s Office said Plean “attended Nassau Community College.” Her LinkedIn page does not show that she graduated.
Plean and her husband, Doug, run a joint X page that featured real estate business-related posts through November 2022. After DeSantis launched his unsuccessful presidential campaign in May 2023, the page mostly reposted political posts, including multiple videos attacking also-ran GOP candidate Nikki Haley and another sharing a video DeSantis posted Jan. 21, 2024, announcing his exit from the presidential race. It’s the page’s most recent post.
Plean’s addition to the Palm Beach State College District Board came in early January, roughly six months after DeSantis named conservative media editor Tracy Caruso, the wife of former Rep. Mike Caruso — whom the Governor appointed as Palm Beach County Clerk in August — to the five-member panel.
In October, DeSantis appointed Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Executive Director David Kerner, a former state lawmaker, to the Board.
In March 2024, DeSantis appointed former Donald Trump adviser Daniel Epstein — an associate law professor at St. Thomas University and Vice President of America First Legal, co-founded by Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller — and biotech executive Jon Harrison to the Board.
Epstein now chairs the Board. Caruso is Vice Chair.
The Board’s fifth member, Michael Derilus, is a Student Trustee.
“Palm Beach State College’s District Board of Trustees (DBOT) is the governing body overseeing the College’s strategic direction, financial health and overall governance,” a description of the Palm Beach State College Board reads.
“The Board ensures that the College remains true to its mission and values while adapting to the changing needs of students and the community. Trustees work closely with the College’s administration to guide policy decisions, fundraising efforts and long-term planning, ensuring that PBSC continues to offer high-quality education and maintains its reputation for excellence.”
