Donald Trump Jr. leads Ron DeSantis for 2028 GOP nomination in latest odds from prediction markets

President Donald J. Trump’s son is the latest Republican to seem like a better bet to win the party’s next presidential nomination than Ron DeSantis, according to a number of online prediction markets.

Donald Trump Jr. is afforded a 6.6% chance of winning on Kalshi and a 3% shot on Polymarket.

DeSantis, who has only months left as “America’s Governor,” is at 4.2% on the former and just 2% on the latter.

The Governor’s decline continues on betting markets, even as Trump isn’t ruling out bringing DeSantis into his Cabinet, which would compel him to work alongside people, like Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, with whom he has clashed historically.

Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and podcaster Tucker Carlson are the top three in both platforms, making DeSantis the fifth option.

Both single-state and national polling continue to show Vance and Rubio well ahead of the rest of the field. Rubio’s surge has been meaningful in recent months, but the Vice President remains the first choice of a plurality of those who say they’re voting.
