Florida’s Governor is telling New Hampshire voters that pro-Palestinian protesters want a “second Holocaust,” though they may be too stupid to realize it.
During a campaign stop in Seacoast Tuesday evening, Ron DeSantis bashed the “bozos” who are in American streets and at American universities, agitating against Israel as the country prepares to launch a ground offensive against Hamas in Palestinian territory.
“When you see these bozos at Harvard and these universities protesting in favor of Hamas, when they say ‘To the river to the sea that so-called Palestine shall be “free,”‘ understand they are advocating a second Holocaust,” DeSantis said.
“These people may not be smart enough to know what they are advocating. I don’t know, but I can tell you this, no other country would have to put up with that. If there is any other country in this world where people were saying they want to eliminate your entire existence, they wouldn’t have to put up with it,” he added.
Unsurprisingly, the Governor has been stalwart in his condemnation of pro-Palestinian protesters, and on Tuesday, he took action to terminate student chapters at Florida universities that allegedly support “Hamas terrorism.”
He also has had suggestions along the way as to what he would do about them, including at the university where he attended law school.
During an interview with The Blaze, Gov. Ron DeSantis suggested that student protests against Israel’s retaliation after Hamas attacks merit cutting off federal funding for Harvard.
“Seeing these students at universities like Harvard sign their names to letters praising Hamas in the light of the barbarism that we’ve seen, it shows this country has got a lot of problems. We need to be reevaluating the role that the federal government has in the relationship we have with some of these universities,” DeSantis said.
“We should not be pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into places like Harvard if they’re producing students that are basically aligning with Hamas terrorists.”
Asked about the state of the Ivy League on the Howie Carr Show in the wake of pro-Hamas demonstrations at Harvard, Ron DeSantis denounced the protests as “absolutely appalling.”
“At this point with the Ivy League, with how nuts they’ve gotten, if I see a Harvard résumé across my desk, I’m running the other way,” DeSantis said.
On Newsmax earlier this month, he wondered why those protesters are in the United States at all, saying that the demonstrations are “almost like they’re just pouring salt in the wounds by going out there and celebrating the atrocities.”
“There’s a sickness in our society when you have Harvard students signing these letters praising Hamas. And I just wonder, it’s like, why are you even in this country if that’s your belief on some of that stuff?”
