Republican nominee conceded defeat Monday in her bid to unseat Democrat incumbent Doug La Follette for the position of secretary of state in Wisconsin.
With over 2.6 million votes cast, final results from the Nov. 8 midterm election show La Follette defeated Loudenbeck by 0.3 percentage points, or 7,660 votes. Loudenbeck conceded Monday morning after county canvasses ended.
“Obviously, the election did not turn out the way we hoped it would,” Loudenbeck stated in a Twitter post. “The feeling of disappointment is real, but so is the gratitude I have for the thousands of Wisconsinites who supported me in this campaign for Secretary of State.”…}
