Republicans have held onto a contested U.S. House of Representatives seat and flipped another, according to projections late Nov. 14, placing them four seats away from flipping the lower chamber with 16 uncalled races left.
In another contested race, a Democrat was projected to win.
Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) won the race for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, while Republican Juan Ciscomani triumphed in the race for the state’s 6th Congressional District, according to The Associated Press.
In the newly updated results, with new reporting from several counties, including Maricopa County, Schweikert expanded his lead over Democrat Javin Hodge by more than 2,000 votes and now leads by about 3,000 votes, with 99 percent of precincts reporting….}
