DCCC Chairman Patrick Maloney Concedes to Republican Mike Lawler

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), has conceded to Republican Mike Lawler in one of the biggest upsets of the 2022 midterms.
As chairman of the DCCC, Maloney is responsible for most Democratic Party fundraising and strategizing efforts.
At the time of publication, Maloney is sitting at 49 percent compared to Lawler’s 51 percent.
William F. B. O’Reilly, a spokesman for Maloney’s campaign, confirmed that the lawmaker had conceded in a tweet.
“N.Y.-17 Update: Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney just called to graciously concede to @lawler4ny,” O’Reilly said.
The outcome is one of the largest surprises in a night that disappointed Republicans’ hopes for a red wave. But it’s a bad look for the Democrats’ top campaign strategist and organizer….}
