President Joe Biden has announced plans to expand health coverage for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program recipients, according to the administration’s announcement on April 13.
The Department of Health and Human Services will propose a rule amending the definition of “lawful presence”—for purposes of Medicaid and Affordable Care Act coverage—to include DACA recipients, allowing them to apply for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace and their state Medicaid agency.
