Kevin McCarthy to Meet With Taiwanese President in California Amid CCP Threats

The office of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced on April 3 he will meet with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen on April 5 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.
Tsai reportedly met with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries in New York City. Punchbowl News first reported the meeting.
Tsai “transited” the United States on her way to Guatemala and Belize and she will “transit” the United States on her way back to Taiwan.
The U.S. State Department uses the word “transiting” because the United States and Taiwan only have unofficial diplomatic relations in accordance with Washington’s “One China” policy, which consists of strategic ambiguity when it comes to Taiwan….}
